HANOVER, ON, February 21, 2019 – Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, is pleased to announce that as part of its Growing Today, Leading Tomorrow community investment program, $5,500 has been donated to the Saugeen Valley Children’s Safety Village.

The newly-constructed Children’s Safety Village consists of a classroom facility and a miniature village that features child-sized buildings, scaled-down roadways, operating traffic lights and interactive sites. Approximately 10,000 children per year are expected to visit the Children’s Safety Village and take part in hands-on, interactive and life-saving programs.

The grant from Corteva Agriscience™ will be used to create safety exhibits and develop agricultural and rural safety programming for school-age children from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

“We believe in doing everything we can to support safety education and training for rural youth, so we can prevent major tragedies,” says Troy Hamilton, territory manager with Corteva Agriscience™. “We are pleased to support the Saugeen Valley Children’s Safety Village in their mission to spread life-saving messages and keep children safe.”

“Hundreds of children die and thousands more suffer life-altering injuries in accidents that could have been prevented,” says Marilyn Rosner, president of the Saugeen Valley Children’s Safety Village board of directors. “The Safety Village is a community project aimed at creating an innovative and educational safety facility that makes a difference in the lives of children by preventing serious injuries and fatalities. We are grateful to Corteva Agriscience™ for their support.”
