Funds will support 4-H Ontario youth crop education.

CHATHAM, ON, Jan. 17, 2020 –Corteva Agriscience is pleased to announce that as part of its Growing Today, Leading Tomorrow program, $5,000 has been donated to 4-H Ontario, a not-for-profit positive youth development organization.

The funding will support the 4-H Ontario Field Crops: Species and Management project that provides youth with a comprehensive introduction to Ontario field crops. The project aims to educate 4-H participants on a variety of Ontario field crops and production techniques and help develop skills in plant identification.

“Programs like 4-H Ontario’s Field Crops: Species and Management project are essential to the future of the agriculture community,” says Melani Rich, community investment coordinator with Corteva Agriscience. “In addition to providing useful information and educating participants about the many different field crops grown in Ontario, this project will further connect Canadian youth with agriculture and foster a deeper appreciation for the industry.”

“The Field Crops: Species and Management project has been providing invaluable skills and knowledge to our participants,” says Katherine Smart, manager, corporate giving and philanthropy, 4-H Ontario. “Our goal with this project is to enhance the participants’ knowledge of and involvement with the agriculture community while helping sustain the future of field crops.”
